Project: Redevelopment of Care Facilities

Client: Jersey Hospice Care
Project: Redevelopment of Care Facilities
Size: 19,796 sq ft
Role: Client's Representative / Project Manager

The limited capacity of the Jersey Hospice to respond to the current needs of its patients and bereaved clients and that anticipated in the coming years has led to the decision to develop a new facility to meet the demands of the future. This facility is being developed on the existing site at Clarkson House with the addition of some adjoining land which will allow for a new larger care facility which can be fully integrated with the existing Hospice.

The conceptual design for the new in patient unit, associated extensions and refurbishment was developed through an architectural design competition in November 2008 and in 2009 Rowney Sharman was appointed to undertake the role of Client's Representative / Project Manager.

The redevelopment programme for the Hospice consists of the following new build and refurbishment projects and will be carried out over the next 4 years:

• New In-Patient Unit
• Clarkson House Extension
• Clarkson House Refurbishment
• Landscaping & Car Parking
• Education Centre & Staff Accommodation
